One-Year Blogiversary
18 May, 2014 2 Comments
I started this blog one year ago today, and according to the secret blogger by-laws (bloglaws), I am contractually obligated to post about it and crow-bar in an amalgam of the word “blog” and another word as much as possible.
I’m excited to see that fully one-third of my blog audience (blogdience) is from outside of my home country of the United States. In fact, I have had readers from 84 countries so far. (Depending on who you ask, there are about 196 countries in the world. Seems like there should be a definite number for that, no?)
I have posted 43 times (not including my welcome post, this post, or other pages), for a total of 44,360 published blog words (blogrds).
Its been an interesting experience for me so far. I didn’t really know what to expect when I started this blog, and frankly I still don’t. From the beginning, I knew I wanted to incorporate as much science (blogsci) and useful advice (blogvice) as possible into my blog, and avoid a beer tasting blog- there are others out their who could do a better job of that than me.
For the near future at least, I foresee continuing with this general formula. I would like to add more reader Q&A (blogqua), ideally making it a semi-regular off-Wednesday feature post. I am excited to add a new product review component soon- I was recently asked to review a newly published book.
I’d love to get some feedback from my readers: what would you like to see? What have I done that I shouldn’t in the future? Email or leave comments (blogcom) with your questions or suggestions; I hear its really easy! (No sign in required, even.) And remember, the best form of flattery (blogflat) is to follow me and tell a friend or spread the word online.
Here’s to a great year, and many more to come. Happy fermenting!

Hey, another reader homebrew from Brazil. One interesting thing about your blog is that you put measures also in metric system. Thanks, Fabiano
Awesome to hear from Brazil! Metric is clearly the superior system, but alas I grew up on Imperial and haven’t quite shaken it…
